Energy aspects must comply with 2009 IECC prescriptive and mandatory requirements. Northampton has the stretch energy code. (appendix 115AA) Any structural deficiencies uncovered during renovation must be repaired or replaced to current code standards. Cavities must be fire stopped at all soffits, and every 10’ horizontally and vertically. Smoke and CO detectors interconnected throughout the building. Fire Dept final inspection required.
