Good Morning Louis, I dropped the check off yesterday, but may need to hold off another week before you review these applications. I received word back of a cost far beyond my expectation for the wall face signs and will need to revise materials. I may potentially need to go to painting on a backer and affixing that to the walls. Based on these potential changes I am assuming it would be best to hold off reviewing these until I edit the materials? Sorry for jumping the gun on this! I can come collect these today if you like? I am wondering we might be able to schedule a few minutes to review and advise on other possible sign requests? We need dimensions on the hanging sign;we call them blade signs, max 6 sf.If it's small enough and high enough,it should be OK: Business signs shall be permitted as a two-sided projecting blade sign(i.e..small signs that project perpendicular to the building)as follows: (1)There shall only be one blade sign per business. If there is more than one business in the same building, there may not be more than one sign per 20 feet of frontage on the same building. (2)Only businesses on the first floor of a buikfing may have a blade sign. (3)The sign may not project more than three feet from the facade of a building. (4)The sign may not exceed six square feet of total surface area per sign. (5)The sign may not exceed two inches in width. (6)The bottom of the sign shall not be less than nine feet and the top of the sign shall not be less than 15 feet, both measured above the sidewalk. (7)The sign shall not be internally lit. (8)Blade signs shall be located on the same lot as the structure or establishment being advertised. We'll need to go over the others;we need to know how you measured them. You can always go to the ZBA: The Board of Appeals may issue a special permit allowing more than the number of signs herein permitted and/or for signs of a larger size, but not taller than herein permitted, provided that: (1)Signs are located only where they are otherwise permitted in the district;and (2)The Board of Appeals determines that the architecture of the building, the location of the building or the land or nature of the use being made of the building or land is such that additional signs or signs of a larger size would not detract from the character of the neighborhood and should be permitted in the public interest.Additional ground signs shall only be approved if there are exceptional circumstances to warrant their approval and if all efforts are undertaken to keep additional ground signs as small and low as possible. (3)The Board of Appeals specifies in the permit the exact sign permitted, the size and location of the sign or signs, and,ff applicable, imposes other restrictions.Any change in said signs requires a new or revised special permit unless the special permit specifies what types of changes are allowed Louis Hasbrouck Building Commissioner City of Northampton Town of Williamsburg (413)587-1240 once (413)587-1272 fax On Wed,Jul 18, 2018 at 6:16 AM, Drew Starkweather cdrew@progbrew.com>wrote: Hello Louis, I am looking to get my signage application in for Progression.
