BOARD OF APXLLS
CITY OF NORTHksI1 MASS.
Petition of Michael Sweeney, 400 No, King St., Northampton, Mass.
Mr. Berhbe: First, I will read the notice that ap-
peared in the paper and then we will
hear those in favor of this petition,
and then later we will hear those against
the petition.
Mr. Sweeney:
I feel that the application as made will
benefit the City of Northampton, includ-
ing myself. Many people passing thru
the city may stay one or two nights.
The residents of Northampton would bene-
fit by this motel and I believe there
would be a substantial tag on this pro-
perty that vo uld also be beneficial, to
the Tag Collector of Northampton. 1
have always rented a couple of rooms up
there and have had no complications or
confusion and there should be no reason
why we would have any for a Motel, t
don't see w by it should disturb anyone.
That is about all I have to say,
idrr. berube:
How much to do you propose to spend on
this building?
Mr. Sweeney:
I estimate about $35,000, and I would
like to have a good looking building with
a stucco or brick front, eertiinly
nothing di abby looking.
I live in a nioh neighborhood and would
like to keep it that way. It wlll be
all landscaped.
kr. Berube:
Do you intend to have the regular class
of trade or do you intend to attract the
nicer class of people.
Mr. Leveille:
How large is that septic tank you are
going to put in?
Mr. Swoon r-
10.
