NATURE OF PROPOSED WORK:
Ground Sign 5' tall x 2.5
HARDSHIP:
CONDITION OF APPROVAL:
FINDINGS:
The Zoning Board granted the Special Permit for the ground sign upon review of the application materials and information discussed at
the hearing. The Board granted the application:
1) The Board of Appeals determined that the architecture of the building, the location of the building or the land or nature of the use being
made of the building or land is such that additional signs or signs of a larger size would not detract from the character of the
neighborhood and should be permitted in the public interest. Due to the design/architecture of the building a sign cannot be placed on
the sidewall of the building.
The Board also heard from the applicant that locating the sign stepped back from the street and along the newly installed sidewalk would
direct pedestrians to the main entrance in the rear. The sign also acts to direct those who need the handicapped access to the rear.
The sign was sited to complement the landscape architects parklet design and be integrated within the scheme established.
2)That there are exceptional circumstances that warrant the approval and efforts are taken to keep the ground signs as low as possible.
The sign will be 5' at its tallest by 2.5' wide.
