NORTHAMPTON BOARD OF HEALTH
City Hall, 210 Main Street
Northampton, MA 01060
Tel #: (413) 586-6950 x217
The Northampton Board of Health has inspected the premises at
317 Pleasant Street. #8, Northampton, MA(assessor's map 32C parcel 142 .),
for compliance with Chapter II of the State Sanitary Code.
This letter will certify that the inspections revealed violations listed below,
which are serious enough as to endanger or materially impair the
health, safety, and well-being of the occupants &or abutters.
Under authority of Chapter III, Section 127 of the Massachusetts General
Laws, and Chapter II of the State Sanitary Code, you are hereby ordered to
make a good faith effort to correct the following violations
within ONE WEEK of the receipt of this order.

VIOLATION
Obnoxious odor permeates the
apartment and emanates out into the
third floor common hallway at times.
This condition is affecting other
occupants of the building. Odor stems
from your apartment and is most likely
a direct result of the keeping of
several cats within the apartment unit.
REMEDY
As occupant,take whatever action is
necessary to eliminate this odor
problem in a permanent, lasting
manner.
*SEE NOTE BELOW
Initial inspection of premises was made on April 4, 1996 at approximately
1:00 p.m. A followup inspection was made on July 1, 1996 at approximately
2:15 p.m.
*NOTE: After the initial inspection of your apartment on April 4, 1996 you
agreed to cooperate with Northriver Real Estate Management with regard
to alleviating the odor problems from within your apartment which were
obvious at the time of inspction. However, to date, the odor problem still-
exists. At best, any attempts to deodorize the premises would seem to be a
"short term" (less than 24 hours) masking of the existing condition.
Therefore, to avoid any further legal action to get this problem abated,
immediately take corrective action on your own or in cooperation with
management to eliminate this odor problem in a permanent fashion
If you have any questions regarding this abatement order contact the Board
of Health office.
