Our company was there for two matters, one was correcting several installation concerns on the two Baxi gas heating units. The other matter was to address the lack of heating on the second floor Baxi unit. Once Susan and I toured the second floor apartments it became apparent that these following items were impeding correct heating operation and contributing to a colder apartment: 1. In every room there were drapes that covered the baseboard heaters. This will negatively affect the heating emission from the baseborads into the living space. Drapes should be tied up,or in some way tucked up so that the warm air leaving the baseboard units can freely travel into the conditioned space. 2. Wilson advised installing a more modem thermostat for more accurate communication to the boiler in the basement, which indeed was installed this same day. 3. In the kitchen there was a small piece of beaseboard that had its `louver' or `damper' in the closed position. I opened this damper and it should be communicated that every damper should always be fully opened for correct heat emission. 4. The storm windows were not lowered for the winter season. Also, it has been our experience that the gas supply (or the gas pressure) from Columbia Gas has been questionable and could possibly contribute to"no heat' situations in this particular neighbo hood. ly ",1% Sincerely, Gary Wilson 474 Easthampton Road, Northampton, MA 01060 Amherst 413-253-3317 n t Easthampton 413-527-3317 Northampton Email: 4 ary @wilsoo License sF m te: www.wilsonph.com Uaste
