CPA report 2016

Dear Committee Members;
The Academy of Music worked with Curtains Without Borders, along with their rigging team, Robert Brier of Vermont, and our union crew. Conservation began the week of August 8th and ended
August 18th. The first week of conservation included lowering the curtain onto tables and dry cleaning the curtain with sponges. The first week also included mending the tears and
removing the iron clamps on the edges. During the second week, the conservation team filled in with paint and the rigging crew remounted and re-hung the curtain on the last batten upstage.
We held a 1913 Maurice Tuttle Reveal VIP reception and public viewing on September 13th and included remarks by Mayor Narkewicz, Historic Northampton’s co-directors Laurie Sanders and
Elizabeth Sharpe, as well as conservator Chris Hadsel. Maurice Tuttle’s granddaughter Alice Fernandez was in attendance and a note from great-granddaughter Laurie Babineau was read.
Thank you for the support.
Regards,
Debra J’Anthony, Executive Director
