2015 Annual Report Valley Community Development Corporation 30 Market Street Northampton, MA 01060 (413) 586-5855 www.valleycdc.com 2015 CPA Activity Related to the $300,000 Award Board of Directors Rachana Crowley Valley CDC was awarded $300,000 in CPA funding in February 2015 to support the President redevelopment of the former Northampton Lumber Yard into 55 units of affordable rental Amy Fyden housing. The site will also include approximately 5100 square feet of commercial space. Vice-President Richard Abbott Valley CDC has spent no funds to date and will not spend any funds until the project is Treasurer fully funded. Pat Byrnes Clerk After unanimous site plan and CBAC approval in January 2015, several abutters filed Richard Bauman appeals of those decisions. The CBAC appeal was heard in April and the decision was William Fontes upheld in Valley CDC’s favor. The site plan approval appeals were settled between all parties in late October. Edward Harvey Peter Jessop Valley CDC submitted a pre-application to the Department of Housing & Community Theresa LaValley Development (DHCD) in late December and was notified on January 19, 2016 that it can th submit a full funding application which is due March 11. Announcements from this Sindy Mojica round are expected August/September 2016. If Valley CDC is funded, it would then take Carol Walker 6-9 months to close on all the financing after full construction drawings are completed as well as the bid process for a general contractor. Valley would expect construction to start Joanne Campbell Executive Director in the spring of 2017 with a 12 month construction period.
