Good Afternoon Bob,
Thank you for contacting Generac Power Systems, Inc. Customer support. The clearance for a 16KW is as
follows:
No operable windows or openings in the all permitted within 1.52 in (5ft) from any point of the generator.
Allow sufficient room on all sides of the generator for maintenance and servicing. Clearance from the ends and
from of the generator must be 3 ft. This includes shrubs,bushes and trees. Clearance from the back of the
generator must be a minimum of 18 in. Clearance at the top should be a minimum of 5 ft. from any structure
overhand or projections from the wall. DO NOT install under wooden decks or structures unless there is at least
5 ft. of clearance above the generator. Please also keep in mind that you always want to check with city codes.
If you are still concerned about the clearance of the unit, please contact a Generac Power Systems, Inc. Service
dealer.
