I am writing this letter on behalf of Mr. William Mock with
respect to the above referenced site.
Based upon the site inspection that you conducted December 14,
1987 at 2:15 P.M. , it is Mr. Mock's understanding that he is allowed to use
the holding tank for a six month period. During the six month period, Mr.
Mock also understands that he is to exercise due diligence in connecting to
the Northampton City Sewer System. To this end, Mr. Mock has narrowed his
choice of engineers to two. Mr. Mock will review written proposals from the
engineers. Be is hopeful that a selection will be made by the end of
December, 1987. Upon selection of an engineer, Mr. Mock will notify you
immediately.
Thank you for your courtesy and cooperation in this matter.
Very truly yours,

Dear Mr. Gracia:
The Department
of Environmental Quality Engineering/Division of Water
Pollution Control ha

for
William D. Mock !

Northampton, Ma.
Drawing 488-042
The plan' .propo- installation of one pre cast concrete sewage pumping .
station with dupleg SK-60 Hydr-O-Matic pumps. Individual pump capacity is 60
GPM. Total daily flow received by the pump station is estimated to be 1100
GPD. The pimp station will discharge to a 3" diameter force main which will
subsequently discharge to an existing privately awned 6 force main which
empties into the Northampton gravity sewer collection system. The Department
finds the pump station has been designed in accord with good engineering
practice.
Prior to granting final approval- of this pump station, the following
information crust be submitted to this office:
1. A document must be provided to the Department, in which Richard Boyle,
the oaner of the existing force main agrees to permit the proposed
connection.
2. The pump station owner must provide one• copy of a contract in which a
licensed wasterwater treatment facility operator is hired to Operate,
maintain and inspect the proposed pump station.

S. Although tt--e total flow is less than 20(X0 GPD, a sewer connection
permit must be obtained due to the industrial sewage flow generated by
the auto reconditioning lousiness.
4. Three additional copies of the plan must be submitted for Department
