At the request of Sonia Oliva,I made an inspection of the premises at Apartment# 1L,
18 Arnold Avenue,Northampton,MA,on February 9, 1994. The investigation revealed that
seven (7) individuals are currently residing at this dwelling unit:
Ramon Oliva(father)
Angelica Oliva(mother)]
Jorge Oliva(brother)
Carlo Oliva (brother)
Karina Oliva (sister)
Sonia Oliva (sister)
Sonia's son (age 18 months)
The apartment has only three modest sized bedrooms. This does not meet the SPACE
AND USE requirements under 108 CMR 410.400 of the State Sanitary Code, Chapter IL
"Minimum Standards of Fitness for Human Habitation."
As a result of this overcrowding, Sonia Oliva requested an inspection and a followup
letter describing said conditions.
The Northampton Board of Health strot.gly recommends that Sonia Oliva and her 18
month old son be relocated to a more suitable environment as soon as possible. If there
are any questions regarding this letter please contact me at the Board of Health office.
Very truly yours,
David E.Kochan
Sanitary Inspector
