As you know, the Padeck property has been a concern of this neighborhood for many years with Gary Padeck maintaining and operating an auto repair business and a junk yard business on the premises. It is our understanding that on Wednesday,. May 4,, 1983 Mr. Padeck will be brought back into court for violation of his probation. We would like to outline several issues which concern us about his continuing to disregard his conditions of probation and other problems. We would like to bring to your attention that he has directly violated his probation by storing an unregistered vehicle on the property for several months . He also continues to operate an auto repair business in addition to his running a junk yard business. Several neighbors have observed truck loads of auto parts being hauled to and from the property. These parts consist of at least eighteen tires, engines, axles, car hoods, fenders, numerous mufflers, and scrap metal, etc. As members of a residential neighborhood we are deeply concerned about Mr. Padeck' s construction of a garage on the premises . It seems highly likely that he will increase the volume of his business once this building is complete . It appears to be an unusually large foundation with major drainage pipes. It seems unlikely that this structure will be used as a household garage. In addition there is a boundary dispute concerning the placement of the structure. As a result of his continued operations several additional hazards must be mentioned. There continues to be speeding and reckless driving which creates a constant risk for all neighborhood children. His business brings additional traffic and noise . In general, we find that Mr. Padeck and his operations continue to be a public nuisance. As taxpayers and homeowners we are concerned about the deterioration of' the neighborhood .If you have any doubts about Mr. Padecks intentions, we have enclosed a copy of his business card . rMAY NL 1 01983 i C NORTHAMPTON,M IT660 f c; T ; i N,, A CITY OF NORTHAMPTON MASSACHUSETTS City Hall 210 Main Street Northampton, Massachusetts 01060 Legal Department 586-6950 Maureen Ryan-Wise, Esq. I would really like to see this guy locked up. Please proceed post haste. I feel rather foolish in that this problem has not been resolved in over two years of deliber4tions. Please get back to me with an update. The latest that I hear is that the judge threw the case out because the City's lawyers failed to show at the show— cause hearing. City Solicitor City Hall 210 (Main Street I Ir f Northampton, Mass. 01060 ` NOV 1 1984 Dear Attorney y an R -Wlse,, DEPT.OF BUILDING INSPECTIONS NORTHAMPTON.AAA.01050 A. We, the residents of the Garfield Street neighborhood are writing to you regarding the status of the Fadeck residence. As you know, the Fadeck property has been a concern of this neighborhood for marry years with Gary Padeck maintaining and operating an auto repair business and a junk yard business on the premises . It is our understanding that on Wednesday,. May 4,, 1983 Mr.. Padeck will be brought back into court for violation of his probation. We would like to outline several issues which concern us about his continuing to disregard his conditions of probation and other problems. We would like to bring to your attention that he has directly violated his probation by storing an unregistered vehicle on the property for several months. He also continues to operate an auto repair business in addition to his running a junk yard business. Several neighbors have observed truck loads of auto parts being hauled to and from the property. These parts consist of at least eighteen tires, engines, axles, car hoods, fenders, numerous mufflers, and scrap metal,- etc . As members of a residential neighborhood we are deeply concerned about Mr. Padeck' s construction of a garage on the premises . It seems highly likely that he will increase the volume of his business once this building is complete. Padeck and his operations continue to be a public nuisance . As taxpayers and homeowners we are concerned about the deterioration of' the neighborhood .If you have any doubts about Mr.. Padecles intentions, we have enclosed a copy of his business card . February 22, t9E4 Ta whvm it may concern, The following is a copy of a letter dated fray 1 , 1983 which was never replied to. In fact, Mr. Padeck did appear in court on INTay 4, 1983 and the case was dropped because the prosecution did not show up. Mr. Padeck continues to violate his probation by storing junk cars and auto parts and has never paid any fine. We feel this case should receive immediate attention. Musante, Mayor Ay DATE : December 10, 1984 RI : Gary Paddock - Junk on property It has come to my attention that Gary Paddock presently has eight (i ) jtink cars on his mother ' property, four (4) of which he has registered. Apparently, he is trying to circumvent the intent of the court action because the court order mentions "junk" and not cars. Ted Tewhill has indicated that there is little that his office can do regarding the cars that are registered because of the language of the Court Order. Please press as hard as you can to have the court take action to really address all aspects of this problem. Thank. you.
