The project consists of alterations to an existing rooftop observatory. The observatory sits upon the roof of a four story plus basement level, academic building on the campus of Smith College in Northampton Massachusetts. The scope of the work consists raising the telescope for greater observation range; demolition of an existing floor inside the observatory,building a new floor at a new level,new stairs,new telescope pedestal and installing a retractable dome. The work includes the addition of an exterior door and alteration of an existing exterior door. There is no roofing work involved with this project.
