Dear Mr. Deyo:
On May 12, 1987, a representative of the Northampton Board of Health inspected your
property at 404 Sylvester Road, Northampton (Assessors Map 28, Lot 3) . That inspection
revealed the following:
1. The dwelling lacks running water, and functional plumbing
fixtures including a toilet.
2. The dwelling lacks an approved water supply.
3. The dwelling lacks an approved sewage disposal system.
These conditions are violations of Chapter II of the State Sanitary Code (103 CMR
410.000) and Title 5 of the State Environmental Code (310 CMR 15.00) .
Under authority of Chapter 21A, Section 13 and Chapter 111, Sections 123 and 127A
of the Massachusetts General Laws, you are hereby ordered to correct the violations
as outlined below within fourteen days of the receipt of this notice.
You must:
1. Provide an approved water supply for the dwelling.
2. Provide running water and functional plumbing fixtures in the dwelling.
3. Provide an approved sewage disposal system on your property and connect
your dwelling to it.
Please be advised that the Board of Health is considering the condemnation of your
property at 404 Sylvester Road and will declare your dwelling unfit for human habi-
tation should you fail to correct the above listed violations in the time specified.
You have a right to a hearing on this matter provided that a written request for such
a hearing is filed in the Board of Health Office within seven days of the receipt of
this notice.
