residential purposes as may be permitted in the URB zone. The land abuts a City sewer
line: however, the sewer line is at an elevation which would require a lift stat on to
handle the sewerage from the site.

9. Set forth reasons upon which application is based: Title V of the State Sanitary Code requires
wherever possible that residential uses connect to a municipal sewer system. Northampton
Zoning makes the installation of a sewerage lift station contigent upon a special permit.
If the special permit were to be denied, the applicant coula investigate the use o
septic systems. Therefore, in order to decide on a development plan, the applicant needs
an initial determination as to the availability of a lift station.
