Dragon Chairman, Board of Appeals 234 North Street Northampton, MA 01060 OPINION OF THE PLANNING BOARD IN THE MATTER OF - Richard Ingersoll ' s request for a variance to use a structure in the SC zone for office use - The Planning Board, at its meeting of August 24, 1977 , reviewed the subject proposal and voted unanimously to express to the Board of Appeals its opinion that the application should be approved. The Board noted that there appears to be a hard- ship which would result from the application of the zoning ordinance, in that the applicant would not be able to use the structure in question. The Board also felt that the proposal was unique to the property in question, that granting of the proposal would not derogate from the intent of the zoning ordinance nor would it be harmful to the character of the area.
