A licensed plumber cams in for a plumbing permit to install
one water closet and one lavatory in a building on Riverbank Road,
owned by Richard Ingersoll, I questioned plumber as to the use
of this building, He said that it was an auxiliary building for
use as dead storage, family room for his family and an office,
After consulting with the Building Inspector It was decided
that the use of this building was illegal and a plumbing permit
was denied the plumber,

OPINION OF THE PLANNING BOARD IN THE MATTER OF -
Richard Ingersoll ' s request for a variance to use a structure
in the SC zone for office use -
The Planning Board, at its meeting of August 24, 1977 ,
reviewed the subject proposal and voted unanimously to express
to the Board of Appeals its opinion that the application should
be approved. The Board noted that there appears to be a hard-
ship which would result from the application of the zoning
ordinance, in that the applicant would not be able to use the
structure in question. The Board also felt that the proposal
was unique to the property in question, that granting of the
proposal would not derogate from the intent of the zoning
ordinance nor would it be harmful to the character of the area.
