The existing fire escape egress doors are single swing multi-pane french doors, untempered glass, with no built-in weatherstripping in poor condition. I would like to replace these with similar doors in the same jamb in the same opening, but with tempered, insulated glass and full weatherstripping. Mary is of the opinion that the new doors would have to comply with the code requirement of% hour rating. It seems logical to me to change the doors to make them more attractive, safer and more energy efficient, but I won't change them if I will be required to make them solid fire rated doors. Thanks for taking a look at this. Hobie ® KRAUS-FITCH ARCHITECTS, INC.
