36-075 PROCEDURE FOR ACCEPTING FORM A'S
APPLICATION FOR ENDORSEMENT OF PLANS BELIEVED NOT
TO REQUIRE APPROVAL UNDER THE SUBDIVISION CONTROL LAW
NO APPLICATIONS SHALL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:
A. The original,reproducible(mylar) drawing of the Plan,with the endorsed Seal of a Professional Land
Surveyor,registered with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts,
B. Seven(7)prints of the Plan,
C. Seven(7) copies of the fully completed and endorsed Form A application form
D. $150 per sheet fee plus$50 for each newly created lot made payable to the City of Northampton.
E. If any portion of a plan falls within 500 feet of a published control point shown on the most recent version
of a plan available in the Office of Planning and Development entitled"City of Northampton, Control
Points,"the plan must have at least four survey-quality(centimeter, or its English equivalent, accuracy)
points on each sheet tied into the Massachusetts State Plane Coordinate System(NAD 1983 datum),using
said published control points or the global positioning system The plan must note the coordinates of the
four tie-in points,the datum, and the source and location of monuments used for data:
F. All plans must be accompanied by a 3 1/2"computer disk or CD-Rom containing DXF or Shape files
including all property lines,buildings and geographic features shown on the plans.
G. Plans shall show all buildings owned by subject landowner(s)within 100'of any newly created property
lines.
H. The plans must include a statement that the Planning Board's endorsement is not a determination that the
lots shown are buildable lots.
Application should be delivered to the City Clerk for date stamping and then delivered to the Office of Planning and
Development. All accepted applications are acted upon within twenty-one(21) days of their acceptance.
Once an application has been acted upon,it is the applicant's responsibility to pick up the original,reproducible
(mylar) drawing at the Office of Planning and Development and record it at the Registry of Deeds or Land Court.
The prints, Form A's, and filing fee remain with the City(regardless of whether the plan has been approved or
disapproved). {Note: The Registry may not accept plans that are over six months old.)
