PETER J.McERLAIN,Health Agent BOARD OF HEALTH (413)586-6950 Ext.213 November 12, 1996 Nov Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Johnson 11 Turkey Hill Rd. Northampton, MA 01060 Dear Mr. & Mrs. Johnson: In response to your inquiry concerning the adequacy of the existing septic system at your property at 11 Turkey Hill Rd. please be advised of the following: Sewage disposal capacity is based on the number of bedrooms in a dwelling. Your current dwelling has three bedrooms, and your septic system consists of a 1250 gallon septic tank and a 500 gallon leach pit. The proposed addition would not change the total number of bedrooms in the dwelling as one bedroom is being eliminated in order to make space for a stairwell and a two room, (one bedroom), addition. Therefore based on the requirements of Title 5 of the State Environmental Code your existing septic system would continue to provide adequate sewage disposal capacity after the addition is completed. Please feel free to contact me if you require additional information. Since ly, Peter J. McErlain Health Agent CC: Building Inspector
