I made a site inspection on January3, 2002 and found several slate shingles on the ground. The brick parapet on the side of the building facing the parking lot has several bricks that are loose and in danger of falling. I have asked the parking commission to barricade a section of the parking lot adjacent to your building to protect the public from the risk of falling slate and brick. I spoke with you today and informed you of the situation. I also instructed you to hire a mason to immediately to remove any loose brick and make safe the structure. Please contact this office so that I may make a site inspection with the mason that you hire. You have one week from receipt of this letter to make structure safe, failure to do so will cause action under 780CMR section 123 to declare the building unsafe for occupancy. If you have any questions please contact me at 587-1240. Sincerely, Anthony Patillo Building Commissioner City of Northampton CC. P.
