Dear Mr. Patillo,
This letter is in regard to a minor change the Florence Savings Bank would like to make
to the driveway at the remote ATM site located at 395 Pleasant Street,Northampton.
The Bank has received a number of suggestions from its customers to make the entry
easier to negotiate when entering from Pleasant Street and then down Service Center
Road. The driveway is somewhat difficult to enter from that side as it is not quite wide
enough to allow cars to swing in without going up on the curbing. There is evidence of
this at the site, as you can see tire marks that go up over the curbing and into the common
grass areas. It also appears there are people who are intentionally going over the common
areas to get a straighter angle to the ATM. The Bank plans to address this as soon as the
weather permits by adding some bushes in the common areas to better define them.
The Bank would like to slightly widen the driveway in two places to give cars a better
opportunity to enter the driveway without going up and over the curbings. I have
enclosed a site plan and highlited the areas of the driveway where we would like to widen
it. The beginning of the driveway would be about five feet wider and the curbing on the
curve of the driveway would be moved by approximately two feet. We would also define
the automobile stacking requirements by painting a yellow line where the curbing
currently sits to encourage people to line up accordingly, although we've not yet seen
more than one or two cars lined up at the site at one time.
The Bank's goal is to make the drive-thru as user friendly as possible and to keep the site
as attractive as we can. As I mentioned before, we are planning some additional
landscaping to help enhance the appearance of the site and to help discourage people
from intentionally driving over the curbings into the common areas. By adjusting the
driveway and adding the landscaping I think we can accomplish the Bank's goals.
