06-030 71 Leonard St ZoningDECISION OF THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS At its meeting on Wednesday, July 18, 1978, the 'Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of Northampton voted to deny the petition of Edmond Greenwood for a variance to convert a portion of a gar- age to an apartment. Based upon evidence presented to the Board, the Board made the following findings in regard to the variance: 1. The property in its present form is not unique and there are no conditions affecting the property which do not affect other properties in the District. 2. Enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance may create some in- convenience, but no hardship other than that created by the applicant's completion of the apartment prior to this decision. 3. The proposed use will not be detrimental to the public good because the parcel is large enough to accommodate this small apartment. 4. The proposed use will nullify or derogate the intent of the Zoning Ordinance in that multiple family dwellings are not allowed in an U.R.A. Zone and the applicant, although aware of the Zoning Ordinance restrictions, proceeded with the project prior to this decision. THOMAS BRUbHWAY, ACTING CHAIRMAN RAYMOND CAPERS, Au I T
