DECISION OF
BOARD OF APPEALS
At a meeting held September 19, 1984, the Zoning Board of Appeals
of the City of Northampton voted unanimously to grant the special permit
request of E & J Distributors, 21 Conz Street, Northampton to lease their
property to a distributor of electrical hardware. Present and voting were
+
Acting Chairman William Brandt, Kathleen Sheehan and Peter Laband.
The findings were as follows:
P. Laband, referring to a special category of special permit from
the Massachusetts Executive Office of Communities and Development,
August, 1980, No. 7, and Section 9.3, Paragraph B of the Zoning
, Ordinance of the City of Northampton, found that the use may be
altered because the situation is not substantially more detrimental
than the existing non-conforming use to the neighborhood.
K. Sheehan found that there is no substantial difference in the
type of operation and that there would be a decrease in the amount
and size of trucks and concurred with Dr. Laband.
W. Brandt also concurred.
The following condition applies:
That the permit is in regards to only that warehouse portion of
the lot and does not relate to or include the existing two-story
brick structure.
