Project Summary: Please provide a brief description of the project.
The Smith Charities building was built by the famous William Fenno Pratt and was finished in
1869. Several years ago Smith Charities did the important work to the exterior of the building of
scalling, pinpointing, etc. and the roof has been maintained. Needed however, are a possible
second egress to the building and the electrical and heating /plumbing systems need to be
repaired or replaced. Smith Charities invests the funds in local mortgages, and as you know
interest rates are at an historic low, and as a result so is our income. Our beneficiaries include
the Smith Vocational Agricultural High School, widows with children under 18, children who study
to be tradespersons or nurses from our communities, Your consideration will be greatly
appreciated by all Thank you
