Huntley, RE Director September 17, 2010 CERTIFIED MAIL 7006 2760 0005 2243 2930 Property Owner 64 Cherry Street Northampton, MA 01060 Dear Property Owner: It has come to the attention to the Department of Public Works (DPW) that a vehicle was towed in front of 64 Cherry Street the other day. The owner of the vehicle came to the DPW stating that her vehicle was towed illegally from this location where a driveway is not clearly defined. As one looks at the property at 64 Cherry Street there is a defined paved driveway on the left of the dwelling. On the right side of the dwelling there is a grassy area that shows markings that a vehicle regularly parks there. The street adjacent to this grassy area is where the vehicle was towed from. DPW has reviewed our permitting records and those of the Planning Board and find no documentation of a permit for a second driveway curb cut on this parcel. Section 350 -8.8 of the City Ordinances prohibits more than one driveway curb cut per lot without such a permit. Since there is no permit in place, no driveway exists and the Police should not ticket or tow vehicles parked in front of this location. Please contact the Office of Planning and Development if you wish to proceed with the process to obtain the required permit. Sincerely, ‘7,40.</i ree-S Edward S.
