RE: The dryer venting for the 4 dryers
The dryer manufacturer recommends 150 -200 CFM per dryer for proper venting. Also
recommended is a barometric damper when a booster fan is installed so that the fan doesn't pull
too much air through the operating dryers (if less than all 4 are running). The fan installed for
the 4 dryer bank is a Dayton 2C863 with a' /4 hp motor. This fan is a radial blade self - cleaning
aluminum wheel. The fan moves 655 FCM @ .5 static, 600 CFM @ .6 static, 462 CFM @ .75
static, and 788 CFM @ .25 static. We have an 8" round discharge and intake from this fan
which would create a .5 static on system = 655 CFM equaling 163.75 CFM discharge when all
dryers are running. This system has 2 heat sensors: one at each end to activate the fan when the
dryers start.
The venting for the 3 dryer vent system has the same fan (Dayton 2C863 with a 'A hp motor).
There is an 8" discharge and a 6" intake. With this piping arrangement, there is 450 -500 CFM .7
static which also meets the dryer manufacturers requirement. There is a barometric damper on
this system to prevent over drafting and 1 heat sensor as the run is shorter.
