Appendix D in the Stormwater Drainage Report must be revised as necessary and
approved by the Northampton DPW. This agreement shall be approved by the
Northampton DPW and signed by the owner and the Mayor of Northampton. Chapter 281
of the Northampton Stormwater Management Ordinance provides additional guidance for

3. The applicant had previously paid a Stormwater Management Permit application fee of
$1,101.58 which was based on an estimated area of disturbance of 68,550 square feet and
a fee of $700 per acre disturbed. Based on communications with Berkshire Design
Group, the expected area of disturbance for the project as designed is estimated to be
125,000 square feet. The total fee for the Stormwater Management Permit for a project

stormwater flows to adjacent properties or to the municipal storm drain system, the owner
shall redesign and reconstruct the drainage system to prevent any increased stormwater
flows to adjacent properties or the municipal storm drain system.
5. Prior to the start of construction of the proposed subsurface dry wells and subsurface
detention basins, the applicant shall:
a. Notify the DPW of the expected start date of construction of these structures for
inspection by the DPW
b. Submit to the DPW for approval, the results of laboratory testing using an
appropriate ASTM testing method that demonstrates the stone to be utilized for
the subsurface dry wells and subsurface detention basin will meet the specified
40% minimum void space
c. Submit to the DPW for approval, written confirmation by a Professional Engineer
of Record in the Commonwealth of the soil textures, soil types, and the elevation
of seasonal high groundwater at the location of each of the proposed dry wells and
subsurface detention basins.
6. Prior to the start of construction, construction plans shall be submitted to the DPW for
approval. The construction plans shall include the following revisions:
a. The Detail for the Dry Well on Plan Sheet 3 must include a revised specification
for clean washed stone.
b. The Plans or the Detail for the Subsurface Detention Basin must include
specification for the number and length of proposed 24" Perforated HDPE pipe.
c. Plan Sheet 2 must specify the location of clean outs and access risers of the
Subsurface Detention Basins. Each pipe section should have a clean out.
