WHEREAS, the Community' Preservation Committee and Northampton City
Council appropriated $275,000 in Community Preservation Act
funds for historic renovations to the Academy of Music on December
15, 2011, contingent upon receipt of grants or other matching funds
to support the project.
WHEREAS, up to $25,000 in local funding has been requested for architectural
and engineering services of the work proposed in that project to
create a shovel -ready and competitive application for those grants.
W_N_EREA S, this project will result in no new CPA expenditures, an amount
equal to this award will be returned to the CPA from the prior
Academy of Music appropriation.
WHEREAS, on March 7, 2012, the Northampton Community Preservation
Committee, voted 6 -1 to recommend that $25,000 in Community
Preservation Act funds be used to support this project.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED,
That up to $25,000 be appropriated from Community Preservation Act funding
to the Academy of Music. And, that the grantee meets the conditions approved
by the Community Preservation Committee, the Mayor, and City Council.
Specifically, $25,000 is appropriated from the CPA Budgeted Reserve (account
#2344930 - 359930).
