WHEREAS, the Garfield Avenue Habitat for Humanity project creates C01 1111lUffity
housing and encourages use by diverse populations
WHEREAS,. the project places high value -on sustainable, ecologically i
construction
WHERE-AS•, the project is widely supported by the community
WHEREAS, the project leverages hinds effectively
WHEREAS, the project serves educational purpose in partnering with Sri Vocational
High School
WHEREAS, on November 18, 2009, the Northampton Community Preservat1.011 .
Colm voted unailinlously to recommend $180,000 in Conlnlunity
Preservation Act hinds be used to support this project; $60,000 per year .

WHEREAS, this is the third year of the three year recommendation period
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED,
That $60,000 be appropriated from Community Preservation Act funding to the G arfield
\venue Habitat for Humanity Project. And, that the grantee Fleets the conditions
sLibstaiitially approved by the Community Preservation Committee, the Mayor, and City
COLU1C11.
Specifically, $60,000 is appropriated from the CPA Affordable Housing Reserve
(account #2344930- 359933).
