The gates for the show will open at 11:00 am (I may open the Fair St gate at 10:30 am as there is not much sidewalk space on that side). The music will begin at 12:00 noon, and is scheduled to end at 7:30 pm. Load -in begins at 6:00 am on the 29th, although food vendors will be setting up on the 28th. As you know from the past the set -up is hectic as due to the time constraints and requirements of the tour putting on a series of one off' concerts, sometimes 300 miles apart, everything is cut to the minimum. Load out should be complete by 10:30 pm I will fax you a copy of my liability insurance binder which I expect to receive any day. I am renting 6 -10 tents from the Northampton Rental Center, all of which will have the necessary fire permits. The tour has also been told of permit / insurance requirements. 1 have been told that the tents they have with them (6 -8), their stages (4 in total, they are providing all of them this year), and their climbing wall have the necessary fire and insurance permits. The tour is carrying their own generator power this year (Showpower, Inc., (310) 604 -9676) for the four stages. They have been forwarded the electrical work permit. I will get this to George Fournier, as well as contact him regarding the best time to irfspect the work before we open. M &S Electric will be setting up a temporary service for food vendors. I have sub - contracted concessions out to a series of vendors, many of whom are regulars at the fairgrounds. They have all been instructed to obtain their own permits - gas, Board of Health, etc. Do I need to contact the Fire Department regarding this event? I have worked out all of my police requirements with Captain Wall. The fairgrounds has taken on the responsibility of the clean -up. This year I expect 8,500 - 10,000 people to attend the concert, up about 50% from last year. My staffing, including Northampton Police, neighborhood, parking, perimeter and front of stage security has been increased across the board by 50% from last year reflecting this attendance increase. I will have 8 drink concession stands staffed by 32 people. I will also provide a "mist tent' for people to cool off and staff an EMT station with an ambulance on site. Please inform me of any and all permit, tent, etc, fees in advance of the show as I need accurate accounting for my settlement with them, Call me with any questions.
