Subject: Re: CPC Status Report - DPW Water Protection
Hi John:
The DPW signage project for CPA has not moved forward to date. No invoices have been
submitted and no expenditures have been made.
The delay has been due to technical problems with the adhesive for the catch basin labels that
were installed by the City prior to the CPA project. Many of these labels pealed off the granite
curbs or pavement within two year. We are researching labeling alternatives (metal labels vs
plastic, rivets vs adhesive) but have not made a decision for a suitable alternative. There has also
been some delay in the design for the stream crossing signs. The design of the signs was not
included in the grant funds and is being done separately and in coordination with the Mill River
Greenway initiative.
We plan to order the the catch basin labels and complete the design and order the signs over the
winter. Installation of the labels and signs should be completed by the end of 2012.
We appreciate the CPA Committee's support for this project and believe that the delay will result
in a better end result.
Please let me know if you require additional infonnation.
Best,
Doug
