Make sure the Paper Source is set to Duplex and Color set to Color on the Top Bar. You can leave the
document name as Untitled. Set the Number of pages per document to 2. The Folder Path is set to
Building/Incoming.
Set the Template to Building Permit. The only Image Processing you need is to set the page to rotate
and then Deskew. Click start scanning. It will take a bit of time for the documents to process.
When the documents have finished processing the store link will turn solid in the bottom right of the
screen. Click Store and they will be sent into the Repository Folder.

LaserFiche is set to use Quickfields at this point to remove the color and to name each document the
Map and Block Number. It then places these documents in the Building\Incoming\IncomingNamed
directory. Once in this directory you will need to open another instance of Client 8.1.

Check and correct any names that did not get created correctly. Then open the Map folder of the named
document, then open the Map- Block folder and drag the document from the left client instance to the
right client instance. If the Map-Block folder does not exist you have to create it before you drag the
document over. When you drag the document over the program will OCR the text and the document
will be searchable by address, owner or any other information on the permit.
Once you have dragged it from the left side instance delete it and move to the next document in the list.

You can see the Map and Map-Block folders open and the document that was dragged in. Don't forget
to delete the document in the left instance.
If there already is a document with the same name the client will simply add a (2) to the document
name. This is fine as you will be able to differentiate between the documents in the search engine.
