Summer Street Resolution to Mayor

Upon the recommendation of Mayor Clare Higgins and the Community Preservation
Committee.
BE IT ORDERED
WHEREAS, The Summer Street Community Housing Project serves a public good by
supporting housing and providing a support system for low/moderate income
individuals who chose to live in a sober and drug free environment
WHEREAS, The need for structural support improvements goes beyond ordinary
maintenance and operation costs
WHEREAS, The project benefits from a wide range of support from the community
WHEREAS, The project supports the Northampton Sustainability Plan in encouraging
housing in a dense urban neighborhood
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED,
That up to $39,617 be appropriated from Community Preservation Act funding to the Summer
Street Community Housing Project for replacement and shoring of structural framing of the main
beam, floor beams, and foundation walls. And, that the grantee meets the conditions substantially
approved by the Community Preservation Committee, the Mayor, and City Council.
Specifically, up to $39,617 is appropriated from the CPA Budgeted Reserve (account #2344930-
359930).
